Zombie Apocalypse!
1 05 2009Currently, as a class we’re creating an online magazine. We had to create images that would go with the article we’re individually writing… I wanted to use Illustrator, and found that I quite enjoyed making cartoonlike zombies! Found a source of inspirationg from deviantArt, and decided I could explore the theme further. I even made a lil cat. <3 ehhehe… Hopefully I can finish the set soon… and begin to colour.
Giving myself a week. Eep!

CELNOSTY.
8 04 2009We were told to create our own letter forms through the use of physical things found with in a certain environment. Out of that, we were to create a layout, in which to present given text. Originally I wanted to use other objects, but I found that they were too difficult to edit and morph, so as a last minute idea I decided to use cutlery.

memories.
6 04 2009We were asked to scan an object and to take a photograph of another object. Through manipulation in Photoshop, we were to link these two objects with a word in order to create a poster. I decided to go with the idea of a ‘memory box’. I took a photo of a shoebox, and scanned pieces of paper together… in order to make this:

4 04 2009I had a crack at doing these squiggles/doodles. Some ppl make it look so easy. Gosh I had a difficult time trying to make everything look even, and not messy. How do people do this?! *jealous*
I’ll probably edit this in illus or ps, I shall post that up soon. =)

The picture I created was meant to represent love and unrequited love. I hope I did it well enough so you can interepret it as I wished for it to be presented… eep.

Customise Mastheads
2 04 2009In our Publications class we were asked to create mastheads that would embody what our online magazine was about. I decided to present the following three ideas onto the board.
I’m quite happy, because the 1st and 3rd designs have been chosen in which I’m told to edit further and to place them into a given context! =) yay! I’ll be sure to post the new, edited designs soon enough.

Artichoke Magazine
27 03 2009Our brief indicated that we had to use a current design magazine as a reference, in which we were to create our very own issue. Everything within the magazine had to be written or taken by us. This assignment gauged how well we were able to appropriate a style and make it our own.
I was very proud of this assignment considering I got a Distinction. 80%. Love doing magazine layouts… =]
